Mech Monday Community Designed Goliath Builds

Happy Mech Monday!

Every week we ask the community to design new Mech patterns for a Salvage Union Mech Chassis.

This week, to celebrate the successful funding of the Salvage Union Starter Set, we asked salvagers to design builds for the new Goliath 'Junkyard' Mech. Our favourite will win a free copy of the Salvage Union Starter Set!

This has been our biggest Mech Monday yet! Thankyou all so much for your excellent submissions.

You can download the entire compilation of Mech Monday Goliath Mechs here.

You can download the blank Mech Monday Goliath Template to create your own here.

And our favourite is...

With so many fantastic submissions this week it was incredibly difficult to pick a favourite, every submission was equally excellent in it's own way.

So we decided to pick two favourites this week who both win a free copy of the Salvage Union Starter Set!

First off the Limpet Mine Pattern by MortifiedPenguin, we loved the idea of a Mech repurposed into a mining station, and the pun on Mine tickled us too.

Limpet Mine Pattern by MortifiedPenguin

A Goliath mech repurposed into a sedentary mining station and a lucky salvagers home-away-from home the limpet mine is designed to hunker down in one spot while sifting through the surrounding area’s salvage relying on other salvagers for defence when the chaff and smoke it kicks up is isn’t to deter any incoming unfriendlies. Anything the Limpet Mine can’t reach above ground with its array of salvaging arms it’ll burrow down to with its armament of mole torpedos – opening up tunnels for salvagers to explore for old world tech or secret, long buried and dead corpo arcologies.

Picket Pattern by Postman

Secondly, the Picket Pattern by Postman, a versatile build that feels like it would be really effective in play and fits in with the Union Spirit!

Here's a detailed description from the designer MortifiedPenguin.

I imagined it as the mech "Designed by salvagers, for salvagers" as a lot of its design was basically thrown together as a "hodgepodge of scrap parts" in response to another mech design. I call it the "Picket Pattern". It's versatile, tough and mass-producible on the cheap to allow striking union salvagers to stick it to their corporate employers en masse. Imagine a picket line of these thicc bois at an Evantis facility disrupting operations and blaring out union slogans from their loudspeakers. All of the parts are T2 or lower (remember: mass-producible on the cheap) and contains all of the modules and systems you need to salvage, repair, rig, haul, fight and even counter-hack. Like the salvagers that would pilot them, it's tough, versatile and symbolic of their pilot's grit and no-nonsense attitude.

Thank you all again for all of the amazing submissions, they continue to show the enthusiasm and creativity of the Salvage Union community and it's a pleasure to read through them all each week.

Until our next Mech Monday, happy Salvaging!
